Artist, Art Model, and Writer

My work explores how personal experiences can be translated into physical objects, using material, texture, and process to preserve moments that are often difficult to articulate. Drawing from my background in industrial design, I approach each project through experimentation with scale, repetition, and unconventional materials, creating works that exist between documentation and abstraction.

Much of my practice begins with lived experience. In Paisajes Geográficos de la Mente (Geographical Landscapes of the Mind), I transform deeply personal writings from a period of depression into tufted and hand-punched textile works. Inspired by the appearance of damaged Polaroid photographs, each composition functions as an emotional snapshot rather than a literal image. Colors, patterns, and distortions correspond to recurring thoughts recorded during that time, while intentionally loose threads suggest emotions that refuse to remain fixed in the past, continuing instead to linger into the present. The work considers memory not as a stable record, but as something fragmented, altered, and continuously reshaped by our emotional lives.

In contrast, my series Safaera approaches intimacy through humor, scale, and printmaking. Carved into Pink Pearl erasers, these miniature prints reference the Puerto Rican slang popularized by Bad Bunny’s song of the same name, reclaiming safaera as a space of uninhibited queer sexuality. By using an everyday school object associated with correction and erasure, the work creates a tension between visibility and concealment, innocence and desire. The intimate scale invites close viewing, transforming small gestures into acts of celebration and self-affirmation.

Across my practice, I am interested in how materials carry meaning beyond their functional purpose. Whether working with fiber, printmaking, or found objects, I use familiar materials to examine memory, identity, sexuality, and mental health through a deeply personal lens. I see each work as both an archive and a conversation—one that documents lived experience while inviting viewers to reflect on their own emotional and physical histories.
